30 years of helping kids

Walmart Stores, Inc. is one of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital most loyal corporate supporters. For 30 years, associates in more than 70 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the region have faithfully raised more than $9.5 million for Le Bonheur.

For five weeks each fall, employees organize creative fundraisers like contests, auctions, potluck and family events and ask customers to contribute at the register. Last fall, more than 150 employees came to Le Bonheur to see the impact of their gifts first hand. One of the highlights was seeing the space in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit waiting room named in honor of Walmart and Sam’s Club.

Mary White, a personnel coordinator at the Millington Walmart, has been a champion for all 30 years. The mother of three and grandmother of two enjoys talking with customers about the importance of keeping Le Bonheur strong.

“Le Bonheur takes care of us, and we take care of Le Bonheur,” Mary said. “What you give from your heart, there is no price.”
