Meet our CMNH 2020 Champion, Claire Russell
We’re excited to announce our 2020 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion – Claire Russell! Ten-year-old Claire is one of Le Bonheur’s biggest advocates.
Shortly after her birth, Claire turned blue. She was airlifted from Jackson, TN, to Le Bonheur, where she was diagnosed with a serious and rare congenital heart defect. The two main arteries leaving her heart were reversed. Claire needed a procedure right away to allow oxygen to reach her heart. Two days later, Claire had open-heart surgery. Claire spent 13 days in the hospital. She has annual check-ups with her cardiologist and her future looks bright.
Claire whole-heartedly loves Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. The hospital saved her life, and it is her life’s mission to give back in any and every way she can. Since she was old enough to understand and tell her story, she has literally leapt at any opportunity to fundraise, tell her story, visit with patients and simply give back.
