Help Get Behind the Half Billion at Costco this Year
Knowing that children’s hospitals are underfunded, Costco, its members and employees are making a difference by fundraising. They are changemakers whose impact to change kids’ health isn’t just about helping those in critical situations—it’s also about the research, preventative care, health and safety education and other support services that help build healthier communities today and tomorrow.
During the month of May, you can help us reach the $500 million milestone to change kids’ health! When you shop online or in-warehouse at Costco, make a donation to help kids like Claire Russell.
Claire was born in August 2009 with a congenital heart defect known as Transposition of the Great Arteries. She was airlifted to Le Bonheur just a few hours after birth where she had four operations in the first four days of her life, including open-heart surgery when she was only three days old. Claire spent 13 days at Le Bonheur and came home “fixed.” Now she has annual cardiology appointments and will for the rest of her life, but otherwise she is an average little girl. She plays soccer, basketball, softball and tennis, takes singing and piano lessons and is very active in her local church and school.
The Costco fundraising campaign runs through May 31 where funds stay local to directly help kids in our community. Since 1988, Costco employees and members have donated more than $630,000 for kids treated at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
Costco’s societal impact has transformed patients’ and families’ lives. Through donations collected during the annual campaign, hospitals are able to provide treatments and healing that patients desperately need today so that they can fulfill their potential for tomorrow—ultimately having ripple effects that positively impact our communities and our world for years to come.
Thank you for becoming a changemaker and donating today to help reach the $500 million milestone. When we change kids’ health, we change the future – for all of us.
