Phi Mu chapters in Tennessee and Mississippi earn CMN Hospitals Impact Award

University of MississippiMississippi State University, University of Memphis, and Delta State University. What do these four universities have in common? When it comes to Phi Mu Fraternity, chapters on these campuses have found a common bond not only in their sisterhood, but also in support for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Phi Mu chapters Alpha Delta, Kappa AlphaKappa Lambda, and Kappa Epsilon work year round to raise funds and awareness for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee.

Cumulatively, in 2017 these chapters raised over $116,000 for this one hospital – making Phi Mu a top CMN Hospitals’ fundraising partner for this hospital market. This level of giving has earned Phi Mu a spot on this hospital’s Donor wall of recognition on the first floor of the hospital.

In addition to their active fundraising through chapter-sponsored events, Miracle Network Dance Marathon and giving on Child Health Day, these Phi Mu chapters worked with their local CMN Hospital to adopt the 7th floor of the hospital: the Neuro and Epilepsy Floor.  As a part of this adoption, this floor is designated for Phi Mu to volunteer and stock and refresh the 7th floor playroom by donating video and board games, interactive toys and coloring books that patients can enjoy while being treated in the Epilepsy Monitoring Room.

Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital is the Memphis region’s first and only comprehensive pediatric specialty and sub-specialty referral center for hundreds of physicians and nearly a million children. As a top contributing supporter for this hospital, these four Phi Mu chapters set an incredible example of what it means truly have an impact on local kids and their families.
